2024: Turning our values into action
In 2024, Golden Palace continued and extended its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Here's a look back at a year rich in action and positive impact.
Environment - Actions that count
In 2024, we multiplied our initiatives to reduce our ecological footprint while involving our teams in an active and fun way. Here are some of the highlights of the year:
- A cleaner canal, by kayak! During World Cleanup Day, our employees explored the Brussels canal in kayaks while collecting kilos of garbage. It was an engaging and unusual activity that raised environmental awareness while creating unique memories.
- More beautiful beaches at Boulogne-sur-Mer. On World Ocean Day, our teams collected more than 10 bins of garbage from the beaches, providing a cleaner environment for the local community.
- Everyday recycling. We collect ink cartridges, light bulbs and batteries, as well as donating IT equipment that can still be used: we give these items a second life to limit waste.
- Waste sorting. New sorting bins have been installed on our premises, along with an awareness-raising campaign to optimise their use.
Solidarity - Making a commitment to others
Supporting social and solidarity causes was one of our top priorities in 2024. We took action in a variety of areas to create a positive and lasting impact:
- A drive for Pink October. Sale of goodies and organisation of a solidarity market in Boulogne-sur-Mer to support the fight against breast cancer.
- Charity collections for children and families. School supplies for disadvantaged schoolchildren, toys for the festive season, and funding for a medical operation thanks to a paper collection.
- Socks to raise awareness. Our employees took action on World Down's Syndrome Day with the 'mismatched socks' operation, a simple but meaningful gesture.
- Sport for a good cause. With the '1 km walk = 1 euro' charity challenge, we raised €7,775.94 for associations, while encouraging health and physical activity.
- Well-being at work. Bringing fruit back to the office and installing a book nook at our head office to promote well-being and exchange between employees.
Responsible gaming - an ongoing priority
As a major player in the gambling sector, we place responsibility at the heart of our activities. This is how we have strengthened our actions to promote ethical and responsible gambling:
- European Safer Gambling Week. Organised by the EGBA, this special week enabled us to raise awareness among our customers and employees of the risks associated with gambling, while stepping up our prevention and support initiatives.
2024 was a landmark year, rich in initiatives and impact. The enthusiasm of our teams and partners has encouraged us to go even further. In 2025, we want to intensify our efforts by co-constructing new social and environmental projects with all our employees. Because every action counts, and together we can make a difference.
