The Cat moves to Boulogne-sur-Mer
After visiting several cities with the travelling exhibition "Le Chat déambule", the statue "On en a plein le dos" of the famous Cat officially took up residence on Saturday 17 February near the beaches of Boulogne, right opposite our Casino Golden Palace Boulogne-sur-Mer.
This artwork with an unmistakable environmental message was inaugurated last Saturday in the presence of its creator, artist Philippe Geluck, and the mayor of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Frédéric Cuvillier. It was acquired last March by the Golden Palace Group.
The name "On en a plein le dos" (We have had enough) refers to the environmental problem it embodies: kneeling, The Cat carries a huge ball full of plastic waste on its back. This meaningful image testifies to our desire to support Belgian cultural and artistic development, but not only that. As environmental issues are also central to Golden Palace, this purchase is very appropriate to express our different areas of action: having a positive impact on society, while respecting the environment.
By providing this statue in Boulogne-sur-Mer with a new home, we hope to raise awareness and inspire future generations to take action for a cleaner, more sustainable world.
This celebration of art and the environment continues, by the way, as from 17 to 25 February you can visit our Casino Golden Palace Boulogne-sur-Mer for an exhibition of original works by Philippe Geluck. We hope to see you there 😉
